Synopsis
缅因州的夏天，事事变幻无常。鲸鱼再也不游近海岸，不象两位老寡妇姐妹年轻的时候。她们拥有一座海边住所，在这里她们已经度过了50个夏天。莉贝眼瞎了，看上去生命垂危；萨拉照看着她的姐姐，却对继续照顾她感到担心，对在她们海边钓鱼的一位俄罗斯老贵族也是三心二意。萨拉结婚46周年纪念日到了，俄国人送给她们一些钓到的鱼，萨拉则邀请他赴晚宴，莉贝也坐直了腰板。萨拉犹豫着现在是否到了卖掉这个地方，而给莉贝再找一处安身地方的时候了。这些老人们接下来还会有什么打算呢？
