Synopsis
日本东北部，福岛县羽代市正在进行一系列河堤改造的建设，与此同时，离奇死亡案件相继发生。其中，《羽代日报》记者立川和黑帮分子川崎昭夫（梅宮辰夫暂无内容饰）的情妇被认为死于山路车祸，其同侪越智朋子（中野良子暂无内容饰）倍感蹊跷，偷偷展开独立调查。另一方面，保险公司也怀疑川崎有骗保之嫌，派出从自卫队特种部队退役的职员味泽越史（高倉健暂无内容饰）调查此事。味泽与朋子合作，却遭到川崎所在的中户组及其背后靠山大场一成（三國連太郎暂无内容饰）的联合阻挠。另一方面，刑警北野（夏八木勲暂无内容饰）在跟踪调查时发现，貌似不相识的味泽与朋子竟有着千丝万缕的联系，而他们的渊源更可追溯到1年前某山村部落发生的血腥惨剧……
