Synopsis
1891年，后印象派大师保罗·高更在巴黎的艺术圈已小有名气，但为文明社会的虚伪与矫情感到厌烦。对于原始世界的渴望驱使他离开家中妻小，来到南太平洋的大溪地；准备好为追寻已久的自然、野性、纯粹的生活与创作环境牺牲一切。忍受着经济上的贫困和精神上的孤寂，高更走进丛林深处，认识了当地的毛利人，邂逅了原住民女孩德胡拉；一段三角关係也若隐若现地缓缓浮出。这座远方岛屿彷佛是他灵魂的故土，此处充满生命力的人物面貌与地景线条都成为他的缪思，激发他创作出艺术生涯中最具标志性的大师之作。
