Synopsis
芭芭拉是一个自然、不做作的女人。但她对爱情的热烈往往不幸的超过她对爱情的忠贞。他总是让爱上她的男人为她心碎，虽然她从不蓄意伤害他们。故事发生在西元1760年的北欧小港陶沙，属丹麦的殖民地。当时芭芭拉28岁，已经当过两次寡妇，而且跟第三任丈夫订了婚。这时小港来了一位25岁的牧师保罗，保罗不顾任何警告，很快的疯狂迷恋上芭芭拉。三艘满载从美国打仗回来的法国军舰停靠在陶沙港，芭芭拉和许多女人纷纷投向这些法国军人的怀抱。7个女孩因此怀孕了，虽然芭芭拉并非其中之一，但是这个事件使所有的女人蒙羞。
