Synopsis
艾米利亞省的波河河畔一直以來都是印度移民聚集區，婆羅門之子克里希那在此地的酪農場擔任擠奶工人。每日與土地和動物接觸，讓他回想起在印度度過的童年，那裡的家人對大自然充滿敬意。波河的潺潺流水讓克里希那聯想到神聖的恒河。他和當地人相處融洽，但回憶、傳統以及個人信念，讓克里希那與周遭環境總是有些不協調。他和一名擔任看護的俄羅斯女孩陷入情網，幸福生活彷彿就要來臨，他卻因個人文化因素而拒絕宰殺不產乳的乳牛，克里希那做出極端的決定，也面對了劇烈的後果，但宿命會帶著他走向平靜心靈。
