Synopsis
Carmody一家一直在澳洲内陆过着游牧生活。儿子Sean负责牧羊。他和母亲Ida想找个农场定居下来。父亲Paddy还想继续像往常那样生活。后来这一家里发生了好多事。有孩子出生，还有父亲的酗酒赌博恶习，以及草原上进行的剪羊毛和赛马大赛，这些终于使得他们决定下来是定居还是继续游牧生活。 本片曾获第33届学院奖最佳影片、女主角Deborah Kerr、女配角Glynis Johns、导演Fred Zinnemann、原著改编5项提名，并在第18届金球奖角逐中获特别成就奖。
