Synopsis
故事发生在车水马龙的繁华大都市伦敦，在事业上非常成功的女记者耶尔玛（比莉·派佩 Billie Piper 饰）和丈夫约翰（布伦丹·考威尔 Brendan Cowell 饰）过着看似幸福美满的生活，然而，这场婚姻在平静的表面之下早已经千疮百孔了。耶尔玛非常想要一个孩子，可是，约翰无法令她怀孕，这是她痛苦的根源，两人之间因为孩子的问题，不断的发生争执和矛盾，关系一步一步的恶化。 维克多（约翰·麦克米兰 John MacMillan 饰）是约翰最好的朋友，约翰总是会向他倾诉他和耶尔玛之间的争端。实际上，维克多一直深爱着耶尔玛，耶尔玛亦对自己当初的选择充满了后悔之情。耶尔玛向维克多投怀送抱，但维克多坚守了自己同约翰的友谊，拒绝了耶尔玛。
